Public Meeting: Top of State Street Plaza Redesign
postedThe City of Madison Planning Division is hosting a public meeting to plan the redesign of the top of State Street pedestrian plaza areas on West Mifflin Street and North Carroll Street where State Street meets the Capitol Square. Mifflin Plaza, also known as Philosopher’s Grove, will be redesigned and rebuilt after construction of the Wisconsin History Center is completed as part of a phased project that is anticipated to include improvements to a larger area. Future plaza phases include the rest of the 100 blocks of West Mifflin and North Carroll Streets.
You are invited to attend the public meeting on Monday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. Attend either in-person at Central Library, Room 301, or virtually via Zoom. You can join virtually using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can listen in via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at this link.
City staff will present initial design concepts at the meeting. The concepts explore potential designs and amenities that could enhance the plazas and top of State Street area. Future public meetings on the design process will occur later this year.
