Upcoming Meetings of Interest:

• Passenger Rail Station Planning: Please join a public meeting on December 7 to discuss a potential site for a future Amtrak Station in Madison. Two options will be available:
  • In person: 4:30pm, room 215, Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • Virtual: 6:30pm. Please register in advance.
• Public Information Meeting on the Wingra Proper Watershed Study, December 8, 6-8pm. Please register in advance for this virtual meeting.

Events:

• The Madison Black Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Google and its Grow with Google Program to offer digital upskilling workshops. Workshops will be held Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30 on November 29, December 6, and December 13. Please register in advance.
• Sunset Village Community Association Blood Drive, December 1, 12-5pm, Sequoya Library.
• The 26th Annual Fair Trade Holiday Festival will be at the Monona Terrace on December 3 from 8am-3pm.
• Middleton Outreach Ministry Holiday Art Market, December 3-4, FCI building, 2551 Parmenter Street, Middleton.
• 10th annual Run Santa Run Holiday Fun Run, December 4, 3pm, Capital Square. Mind the road closures during this event!
• Free training on the Affordable Connectivity Program for Broadband Internet, December 6, 12-1:30pm
• WWBIC is hosting a seminar on understanding how cash flows in and out of your business, how to complete a cashflow statement, and how to review cashflow and projections on December 7 from 12-1pm at WWBIC, 2300 S Park St, Ste 113.
• Greater Madison Music City (GMMC) will host a happy hour and meetup at Café Coda on Thursday, December 8 from 4:30-6:30pm.
• Warner Park Community Recreation Center Family Fun Night, December 9, 5:30-8pm.
• Free Homebuyer Education Class: Saturday, December 10th, 8am-3pm, Villager Mall on Park Street, Atrium Entrance (2300 Park Street).
• Madison Bach Musicians Baroque Holiday Concert, December 11, 2:45pm lecture, 3:30pm concert, First Congregational Church, 1609 University Ave.

Announcements:

• The City of Madison’s Equal Opportunities Commission is looking for individuals or stakeholders that serve Madison’s Black community to volunteer for an Implementation Group to conduct a Truth and Reconciliation Process for the City of Madison. • Neighborhood House Community Center is collecting warm winter clothing. Please drop off donations to 29 S. Mills St.
• The City of Madison is a Top 10 Digital City!
• Giving Tuesday on November 29: There are numerous charities in Madison that are doing amazing work and deserve your support. 
• Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award- Nominations Open Now!: Promoting peace, Understanding, and Improving communication & cooperation between diverse populations in Dane County. Nomination deadline extended to Friday, December 2.
• The application for a BYFY (By Youth For Youth) grant is open: Youth applicants, schools, and youth-serving organizations in Dane County can apply for up to $3,000 for youth-led initiatives and the application is due December 23. 
• Madison CARES: A New Approach to Behavioral Health: The CARES’s annual report has been published on the Public Health Madison & Dane County’s Violence Prevention page.
• Madison Parks Downtown Offices Move to Olin Park: Madison Parks' downtown office is moving to 330 E. Lakeside St., 53715 . The office will be closed to in-person visits on Friday, Dec. 2 and reopen at the new location on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.
