Snow emergency declared - know where to park, no leaf pickup, libraries closing at 1pm; Envision Downtown kickoff event Tuesday; Other Events & Announcements.
postedHello neighbors,
Today’s snow is the definition of why our Streets Division never promises to do an extra leaf pickup. If they have to convert to snow plowing, they cannot get additional leaf pickups in. In many years, we don’t have a snow like this, and they can get in that extra leaf pickup. I’m not saying they won’t be able to come around for one more leaf pickup (they’ll still try!), but it seems less likely now. If you were on the schedule for a pickup this week, please follow these instructions. What can you do in the meantime? Compost in your yard, or take your leaves to the nearest drop off location – but not this weekend, as they’re closed to respond to the storm.
As we now have a declared snow emergency, please follow all relevant parking restrictions for today, tonight, tomorrow, and Monday.
Also please note that all Madison libraries will be closing at 1pm today in response to the storm.
