The Transportation Commission will review the Amtrak Passenger Rail Station Identification study Wednesday and a new option for the street geometry for Rutledge St reconstruction. The passenger rail station study identifies 8 potential locations: Monona Terrace, Blair St, Livingston, Baldwin, First St, Johnson St, Commercial and Aberg Ave and the power point provides a detailed summary of +/- for each location. Monday January 15 - Martin Luther King Jr Holiday - all day

City offices are closed for the holiday. Join city, county and community leaders at the 39th Annual Madison and Dane County MLK Jr Day Observation starting at 5:15 at the Overture Center with the Freedom Songs Sing-Along. The program begins at 6p with guest speaker Terrence Roberts who made history as one of the "Little Rock Nine," followed by the 2024 MLK Humanitarian Awards MLK Coalition 39th Annual Observation

Finance has not met since December so there are a lot of items of interest including Metro position modifications, youth centered affordable housing, Olin Park land acquisition, city compensation study, TID 51 commercial loan, CARES program evaluation, Thai Pavilion refresh, parking lease with commercial (hotel) user for Wilson St garage, homeless services and more.

11. 81573 Passenger Rail Station Identification Study Legistar 81573 Passenger Rail Station Study and TC Rail Study Presentation 

Staff will provide a presentation at the meeting, see the link for more details. The study identifies 8 potential locations: Monona Terrace, Blair St, Livingston, Baldwin, First St, Johnson St, Commercial and Aberg Ave. The TC presentation provides a shorter recap of the study and a detailed summary of +/- for each station location. The Study did not review impacts to street circulation or safety/fencing. There will be an in person public informational meeting on January 30 and an online meeting on February 6. 12. 81574 Public Works Transportation Projects Review and Feedback - Rutledge St. Staff Report with new option 1C   Option 1C is recommended by staff due to recent request by City of Monona to contract for Metro Service. If the street geometry is approved by TC and CC, the project would be constructed to allow for 2 - 14' travel lanes and parking on both sides of the street.

The City is planning to reconstruct Rutledge Street (Riverside Drive to Division Street) in 2024. The project will include replacement of asphalt pavement, gravel base, curb & gutter, and spot replacement for sidewalk and driveway aprons. Sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main will be replaced. The City is also planning to resurface Division Street (Rutledge Street to Jenifer Street/Oakridge Avenue) in 2024. The project includes removing and replacing the asphalt pavement.
