Snow Emergency Tonight! And Plowing at 3:00pm

posted

Hello neighbors,

Citywide plowing operations will be kicking off at 3:00pm.  Plowing every street in Madison can take us 12 to 14 hours to complete that initial pass, so everyone can expect their street to be plowed sometime before 5:00am tomorrow, February 10.

Tonight, we are also doing a snow emergency.  So, alternate side parking is enforced throughout the entire City of Madison.  Violators may be ticked and towed.  Tickets for the ASPO violation is $60 during a declared snow emergency, and if they are towed an additional $65 is tacked onto the ticket as a towing fee.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, people should also be sure they are following daytime parking rules, especially if there are posted Friday parking restrictions in their neighborhoods.  Streets crews will be using those restrictions to continue the clean-up operations, and failure to follow those could also result in a ticket and a tow.

Here is a link to the official press release about the snow emergency.   We’ve also sent messages to the nearly 8,000 people subscribed to the snow emergency email list.  We’ve sent the snow emergency text message as well, which hits I believe over 10,000 phone numbers (I’m not sure of the exact count).

We sent out our snowplow update as well.  Those messages go out as an email to nearly 5,000 people.

Even with all that, I’m sure there’s folks who miss these messages so feel free to share all that you can.

Good luck!
