Week of February 2, 2026
postedDear Neighbors,
As we move through the heart of winter, I want to share important updates, meetings, and events happening this week across the City of Madison and in our District 7 community. There are several opportunities to stay informed, provide feedback, and engage with City initiatives.
βοΈ Winter Weather & Safety Reminders
City crews continue snow and ice response operations as winter conditions persist. Major arterials and transit routes remain the highest priority, followed by residential streets. Please continue to allow space for plows and take extra caution when traveling, especially during overnight refreeze conditions.
Thank you to everyone who has been diligent about clearing sidewalks and helping keep our neighborhoods safe and accessible.
π¨ Community Input Requested: Public Art at Reindahl Park
The City of Madison, along with the Madison Arts Commission and The Bubbler at Madison Public Library, is inviting community feedback on design proposals for public art at the Imagination Center in Reindahl Park.
This is a great opportunity to help shape a public space that will serve families and residents for years to come. I encourage you to review the proposed designs and share your thoughts. More information is available in the Announcements and News Releases section below.

As part of the Madison LakeWay (Lake Monona waterfront) development initiative, Madison Parks is seeking input on the final design considerations of the proposed lakeshore and path improvements along the John Nolen Drive causeway. The area under consideration spans 0.6 miles of public lakeshore and is the first phase of implementation for the Madison LakeWay.
You are invited to attend a public meeting to review the latest design for future waterfront improvements on Monday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. You can join the virtual meeting using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can listen in via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at this link.
During the virtual meeting, Parks and design team representatives will share an update on the project schedule and review design refinements made to align the project scope with available funding. The project is entering the construction documents phase, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027.
