COVID-19 Has Hit Home
My heart aches today. I said Happy Birthday and goodbye to my Grandma Anne, who passed away early this morning on her 73rd Birthday. For the past couple of weeks, both my courageous Grandmas have been battling COVID-19, and this morning, my Grandma Anne lost her fight. It still doesn't feel real losing my biggest cheerleader and one of my best friends in this world. She was an extremely healthy and active woman and was always there for me when I needed her. My Grandmas are the light of my life and always have been. I know my Grandma Anne is celebrating her incredible life wherever she is now. It's a really difficult and trying time, but I will dig deep to stay strong for her and my family.
I debated sharing our experience with coronavirus; ultimately, I know that she'd want me to share her story if she knew it could save another life. COVID-19 is real and is very much dangerous, even if you don't experience symptoms like my Grandmas. Please, please, for the sake of every grandparent and all at-risk persons on this planet, practice social distancing and wear a mask. It's not that hard, and you could be saving a life. I wouldn't wish the grief and sadness on anyone.
I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and supporting messages. I'm spending time with family, reflecting on the beautiful soul we lost today, and am focusing on my mental health. Apologies for the missed calls/messages/emails and will get to everything soon.
I will continue to fight for my Grandma Anne and those already suffering from this terrible virus. We're in this together.
Peace and love,
