Happy New Year to All. Wishing you all happiness, love, and peace in 2023! Reminder that the Common Council office is closed today (Monday Jan. 2nd). We will be back in session tomorrow (Tuesday January 3rd, 2023) Please join us in-person or on zoom at 6:30pm for our first Common Council meeting of the year. Hope to "see" you there.

City Office Closures on January 2, 2023
- Since New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, City administrative offices, including the Common Council office, will be closed on Monday, January 2, in observance of the holiday. Emergency services will be open; please call 911. Use Report a Problem for non-emergencies.
Meetings
- The Common Council will meet in hybrid format at 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023. Agenda includes commending Fire Marshal Edwin Ruckriegel on his retirement; celebrating 1/16/23 as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; authorizing a referendum to establish staggered alder terms; approving a Complete Green Streets policy; and more.
- Greater Madison MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization) Policy Board will meet virtually on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 6:30PM. Items on the agenda include a presentation on MPO Funded Exchange Street Project and Request for Approval of Design Change and a presentation on Metro Transit Safety Planning Efforts.
