Public Input Meeting: (Midtown Commons Park, Tuesday, July 29)
The community is invited to a virtual public meeting to help guide the future of Midtown Commons Park, located at 1310 Waldorf Blvd. Midtown Commons Park is expanding to include ~8.2 acres of additional park green space. Community members are invited to review existing park uses and provide their thoughts on desired park amenities in the expansion area.
Public Input Meeting - Kenneth Newville Park, Thursday, July 31: Newville Park neighbors are invited to the park for a community input meeting on Thursday, July 31, starting at 6:00pm. Parks staff will be sharing potential amenities and layout options for a new development plan for Kenneth Newville Park. We’re seeking community feedback to help prioritize features and ensure the plan reflects local needs and preferences.

Water Main Flushing will begin for residents North of Old Sauk Rd. and West of Pleasant View Rd, on July 28th. Note: Flushing will occur during the day.
MPD recognizes National Deflection Week, Madison, WI. The Madison Police Department is pleased to announce its involvement in National Deflection Week and the efforts being done to help those experiencing substance use disorders in the community.
Annual August Move out, Move In Days:
The annual August Moving Days for downtown Madison will soon get underway beginning August 3rd when thousands of Madisonians (mostly students) will be moving out and transitioning to new living spaces during the first few weeks of August. And yes, a very busy time for the Streets, Trash & Recycling, Parking and other departments. For sure...this time of the year requires patience.
Free Electronics Recycling: lt is time to liberate and get rid of your old and outdated electronics. All electronics are accepted for free at the Streets Division drop-off sites from Madison residents from televisions, computers, printers, cell phones, cords, and on and on. It’s all free. You just have to bring it to us. Don’t put electronics in the carts.
- 2025 Recyclopedias Now Available: Paper copies of the 2025 Recyclopedia can be picked up at your local library location or requested to be mailed to your home by contacting the Streets Division
- Ribbon Cutting Set for the Jeff Erlanger Sprayground at Rennebohm Park: Neighbors and community members (yes, you too District Niner's) are invited to join the Madison Parks Foundation and City leaders in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 29, for the new sprayground at Rennebohm Park, 115 North Eau Claire Avenue, 53705.
**The Madison Police and Madison Fire Department are extending an invitation to save the date (September 11, 2025) and to join them for their annual 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive. Join them in this important life-giving community event to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11th, 2001.

When: Thursday, September 11th from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Appointments every 15 minutes). Please anticipate at least 1 hour for your donation, and slightly longer if you are doing a Power Red double donation.
