Disability Pride Flag Raising Ceremony & News Conference
Event Description
The City of Madison will host its second Disability Pride Flag Raising Ceremony to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ceremony and news conference will take place on Wednesday, July 8, at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Madison Municipal Building.
July is nationally recognized as Disability Pride Month. The ceremony will honor the strength and resilience of the disability community while highlighting Madison's commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all residents. The ceremony is free and all are welcome! American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided. Community members are encouraged to attend and show their support for disability, pride, and inclusion.

- Driving, there is limited street parking on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and in the surrounding area. If you have a disability parking hangtag or license plate, you can park in any reserved accessible parking space and are also exempt from parking fees at meters with a 30-minute time limit or longer. Additional parking is available for a fee in the Wilson Street Garage.
