Ice Skating & Cross Country Skiing Update

posted

Outdoor Ice Rinks: The skating rinks at Tenney, Vilas and Elver Parks are open for skating. Skate rentals are also available. The warming shelters will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday or close sooner if the last patrons leave. Cross Country Skiing: The trails at Elver and Odana have been groomed for both skate and track skiing. Unfortunately the warm weather this past week cased the base to be lost at the remaining ski locations in the city and yesterday's snow was insufficient to pack for a base. Crews will resume grooming on Tuesday. They do not work on Monday due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. The Elver shelter will be open 2:00 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 11:00 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Odana shelter will be open from 9:00 to 4:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Ski rentals are also available. The public may call 266-4711 for more information or log on to our website at www.cityofmadison.com/parks. Please listen to your local radio and/or TV station for the latest conditions.
