Help Shape the Future of Biking, Walking and Rolling in Dane County

posted

Now’s your chance to help shape the future of biking, walking and rolling in Dane County. The Greater Madison Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is inviting residents to complete a short survey that will help guide the region’s active transportation future.

The feedback collected will directly inform the new Active Transportation Plan for Dane County—a blueprint for making it safer, easier and more enjoyable to walk, bike and roll (including using wheelchairs and other mobility devices) throughout the region. Survey results will also be shared with local communities engaged in their own active transportation planning this year, including Fitchburg, Madison and Middleton.

Whether you walk your dog around the block a couple of times a week, bike to work every day or simply wish it were easier to get around without a car, we want to hear from you. Your feedback will help us prioritize projects and strategies that make these ways of getting around an even better choice for everyone.

The survey is available in English and Spanish. Residents who prefer another language can complete the survey by phone by calling (608) 266-4336.

Participants can also use an interactive map included in the survey to highlight specific areas of concern or suggest improvements. The deadline to participate is July 1, 2025.
