Hello Madison,

The City of Madison has two upcoming software updates this month. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we've made efforts to minimize any disruptions.

Website Maintenance Scheduled for July

Payments

Starting at 9 p.m. on July 8 through 8 a.m. on July 13, the Madison Water Utility will not be able to accept payments for your Municipal Services Bill, except in person by cash or check.

Additionally, CDA Housing, Metro Transit, the Municipal Court, and the Parking Division will not be able to accept in-person card payments on July 9 and 10. You will be able to make online payments.

Licenses, Permits, and Reports

Starting the evening of Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, several online application forms will be unavailable. This includes large item collection requests. Please wait until Monday, July 27 to submit your applications.

For Parks activities, you will not need a permit to use boat launches, disc golf courses, or dog parks during this temporary service interruption.

Message from the Mayor

A hiker in a Madison park surrounded by trees

July is Parks & Recreation month and it's a great reason to check out something new our fabulous City Parks Division has to offer. Madison has 296 parks, big and small, each with its own amenities and charm. There are also more than a dozen conservation parks that bring nature to the doorstep of our vibrant urban spaces.

All this summer, Madison Parks is partnering with Madison School & Community Recreation to offer free community events including the very popular Parks Alive series. Parks Alive is a chance to listen to music, participate in fun, family-friendly activities, enjoy free food and get to know your neighbors. This is in addition to Madison Parks hosting movie nights, bird and nature adventure events, fitness workshops, and youth sports classes. With the hot weather this week, please remember the City also has four splash parks and of course, the Goodman Pool.

Whether it's Olbrich Botanical Gardens, our four municipal golf courses, or the Warner Park Community Recreation Center, your parks system exists for your enjoyment. I'm very proud that 98% of Madison residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park. Whether it's Parks & Recreation month, or any other month of the year, I encourage you and your family to explore our city's green oases.

— Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway
