Additional Skating Rinks Open

Outdoor Ice Rinks: The skating rinks at Tenney, Vilas and Elver Parks are open for skating. Skate rentals are also available. The ice is in good condition. The warming shelters will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. or will close sooner if the last patrons leave. Additionally: on the eastside, the lagoon is cleared and available at Warner Park for skating and the general rink is available at Olbrich Park. The ice is rough at these two locations. on the westside, the rink at Westmorland opens today at 4:00 p.m. The hockey rink at Garner Park is also open for skating. Please stay off the regular rink because the ice is not strong enough yet. Parks equipment has been breaking through on this rink. On Friday, January 24, the following rinks will open at 1:00 p.m. due to the Madison Metro School District schools early release: Tenney, Vilas, Elver and Westmorland Parks. Cross Country Skiing: All trails at Elver Park have been groomed and tracked for skiing. The trails at Odana Golf Course have also been groomed and tracked. The trails at Ollin-Turville Park were groomed yesterday. The crew is grooming at South Cherokee, Monona Golf Course and Owen Conservation Park today. The Elver shelter will be open 2:00 to 9:30 p.m. or will close sooner if the last patrons leave. Ski rentals are also available. The Odana shelter is not open during the week.
