Downtown Plan Open House and Survey

posted

You're invited to an Envision Downtown Madison Open House on Thursday, April 30 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. This public event will be jointly held by the City of Madison Downtown Area Plan project team and the Downtown Madison, Inc. (DMI) Downtown Strategy project team. We look forward to sharing progress updates and hearing your perspectives. This event is designed for you to come and go as needed within the 5:00-7:30 p.m. window. The gallery-style event will allow participants to review and discuss their thoughts and preferences with staff at their own pace. It will take place in several rooms on the second floor. This will be an only in-person open house. Registration is encouraged to help us plan for the event.

There is still time to participate in the City Planning Division's "Madison Madness" survey as part of our efforts to collect community priorities and feedback for the Downtown Plan. It's a community survey disguised as a tournament bracket, letting residents prioritize what things they want to see in a downtown plan, from public art to protected bike lanes. Choose your priorities between the field of 32 things that could make downtown a better place. Results of this survey will be added to the collection of feedback used for the Envision Downtown Madison process.

Envision Downtown Madison is a strategic partnership between the City and DMI that will guide the future of downtown through two separate but coordinated efforts – the City's update to the Downtown Area Plan and DMI's new Greater Downtown Economic Investment Strategy.

To learn more about the projects, including how you can stay updated via email updates, visit the City Downtown Area Plan webpage. and the DMI Downtown Strategy webpage.
