COMMUNITY LISTENING SESSION/District 1 ALDER VACANCY

Community Listening Session Today in Response to Officer Involved Shooting

Common Council President Sabrina Madison will be hosting a listening session tomorrow at the Madison Municipal Building. The goal is to connect residents directly with City leaders, including Police Chief Patterson, following today's officer-involved shooting.

DISTRICT 1 ALDER VACANCY

Have you driven on High Point Road this week? New housing development is on the way.  Are you interested in being involved in keeping your neighbors informed as the District 1 expansion planning moves forward? IF YES! Then you should consider applying to fill the District 1 Alder vacancy.  Alder Duncan has done an outstanding job representing District 1. Interested? Contact Alder Duncan and follow the application process outlined in the full blog post. DISTRICT 1 NEEDS YOU!!! Why do I care? I care because residents of District 1 once believed in me and elected me to serve as the District 1 Alder. District 1  is a great community. Maybe it’s your time to step into a leadership role? 

Timeline with key dates:

• Tuesday, August 4, by 4:30 p.m.
  • Applications to fill the vacancy are due.
• Tuesday, September 1, at 5:30 p.m.
  • CCEC interviews applicants and makes a recommendation. Please note that interviews will be conducted in person. 
• Tuesday, September 8, at 6:30 p.m.
  • Appointment of the District 1 interim alder at the Common Council meeting. The selected alder will take their seat at this meeting in person.
