Candlelight Vigil at 5pm tonight, followed by 6pm PCOB Discussion. Public Market Grand Opening Postponed.

Yesterday at the intersection of Baldwin St and Willy St, Corey Ruiz was shot and killed by MPD in broad daylight, surrounded by witnesses and recorded in many videos. The video is devastating. My thoughts are with his family. For everyone else, I hope that you consider what you would feel if this was your son or brother or father and grant this victim the humanity they deserve.

Today there will be a candlelight vigil for Corey at 5pm at Baldwin and Willy. Some folks are already at the intersection and will be all afternoon. I will be there as soon as I can.

Following that, there is a PCOB meeting scheduled for 6pm which I will also be attending.

The Public Market Grand Opening that was originally scheduled for today from 3-8 has officially been postponed. More details on any future date will be shared when available. I am grateful for their solidarity.
