Below, you will find all the news that is fit to print and in no particular order.

  • Absentee ballots are available (if you request one via myvote.wi.gov).  Drop Boxes are open to accept your ballot.  Please check and double check your ballot for completeness and accuracy before depositing it in a DROP BOX.
  • If you intend to use USPS to mail your ballot, please know that waiting too late to mail in your ballot can be a cause for concern if not received by the posted deadline to be counted.  So, plan ahead, use the drop box or VOTE in person.
  • I met with the 301 Westfield developer a third time to get a status update about concerns addressed by adjacent neighbors.  Hopefully, answers about concerns expressed by those MOST impacted will be addressed during a second community/developer session which is TBD.
  • I met with the developer representing the Livesey Company (a generational Wisconsin family-owned property) currently in the idea and concept phase of developing the parking lot property north of Crisp & Green on Gammon Rd.  There are no other details to be shared. 
  • If all goes well, the former Bonefish Grill will soon have a new eatery (Ford's Garage), originating in Fort Meyers, FL.   If their plan for a face lift satisfies UDC and other city requirements, their goal is to open Spring 2027.

Boards, Commissions & Committee Meetings

  • Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, September 14, at 4:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include 2027 Executive Capital Budget briefings.
  • Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 15, at 4:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include 2027 Executive Capital Budget briefings.
  • Transportation Commission: The Transportation Commission meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 16, at 5:00 p.m. in virtual format.  Agenda items include adopting the City of Madison Pedestrian Plan. 
  • Mayor Rhodes-Conway Releases 2027 Executive Capital Budget: My 2027 Executive Capital Budget proposal reflects years of strategic planning that is firmly grounded in the values and aspirations of the people of Madison. 
  • Council President Madison Announces Workgroup on Policing Policies: Common Council President Sabrina Madison has established a workgroup to review and address recommendations related to the Madison Police Department's use of force.
  • Disability & Deaf Community Conversation: Emergency Planning, Tuesday, September 15: You can make a difference in the City of Madison's emergency planning! Share your experiences, and ideas as Deaf and/or Disable person.
  • PCOB Community Forum, Thursday, September 17: The Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB), in partnership with the Community Response Team, Freedom, Inc., and the Social Justice Center, will co-host a community forum focused on police accountability, public safety, and systemic reform following the Madison Police Department (MPD) officer killing of Corey Ruiz
