Firefighters Rescue Cat Found in Southwest-Side Garage

Firefighters responded to an apartment building on Atticus Way after a resident heard a cat meowing somewhere in the basement. The cat was found to be inside a parking garage exhaust fan. Ladder Co. 7 was able to adjust the louvers and free the cat. The cat was placed in a carrier, and a neighbor returned the cat to its owner. It's unknown how the cat became trapped inside the exhaust fan.
