Body-Worn Cameras Policy

It's almost certain that police body-worn cameras will remain in the 2027 capital and operating budgets.

This Thursday, October 29, Madison residents are encouraged to share their hopes and concerns for body-worn cameras at a public listening session hosted by the President's Workgroup on Madison Police Deadly Force, De-escalation, and Body-Worn Cameras. The virtual listening session begins at 4:30 pm. Register here.

Next Independent Monitor

It's likely that the Finance Committee and Common Council will approve amendments to the 2027 operating budget that will support the continued functioning of the Police Civilian Oversight Board and recruiting of a new Independent Monitor.

The PCOB has tentatively scheduled a listening session on expectations for the new Independent Monitor. This is an in-person session, also on Thursday, October 29, beginning at 6:00 pm.
