About Alder Carmella Glenn (she/her)
I envision a vibrant and inclusive District 18 where every resident feels empowered to thrive. My hopes center on fostering community engagement and ensuring that all voices are heard in the decision-making process. I dream of creating accessible public spaces that encourage interaction and collaboration among neighbors, promoting unity and resilience in the community.
In terms of specific goals, I aim to support local businesses, enhance economic opportunities for entrepreneurs and ensure that jobs are available for all residents. I am passionate about advocating for affordable housing ideas and ultimately, solutions.
For the city as a whole, I dream of a Madison that prioritizes sustainability and environmental stewardship. I hope to implement policies that foster green initiatives, reduce our carbon footprint, and enhance public transportation, making it easier for residents to navigate the city.
I aspire to strengthen educational opportunities, ensuring that every child has access to high-quality schooling and resources necessary to succeed.
With a background first in culinary arts, then criminal justice, and finally workforce development, I have spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for underserved populations. Innovative grassroots engagement and sustainable urban growth have marked my tenure at various nonprofit organizations. My commitment to fostering inclusive environments and my hands-on leadership style have earned me recognition as a steadfast champion for equity and progress. In my free time, you can find me spending time with family, playing bingo!
