  • Stricker’s Pond Forebay Dredging: The City of Madison Stormwater Utility will be dredging the constructed stormwater forebay within City of Madison Park Stricker’s Pond. The forebay itself is adjacent to the larger pond and is located at 1126 Middleton Street. This project includes dredging the entire forebay several feet removing an estimated 4,000 cy along with installing catch basins to collect sediment upstream prior to entering the forebay to reduce future maintenance dredging.  As part of the project, the city will hire a wildlife biologist to relocate and minimize impacts to herptiles within the forebay associated with construction. This project will also include ecological restoration in areas disturbed by the dredging and catch basin work. This project will start either in late summer 2025 or winter 2025/2026 depending on permitting approval from the WDNR and US Army Corp of Engineers.  The project is anticipated to be bid in June of this year. There will be a public input meeting on the project on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 5:00 pm. This meeting will include a brief presentation on the project and will include representatives from Engineering and possibly Parks. Engineering is planning on sending postcards early next week.
  • Delayed Yard Waste Collection: Scheduled yard waste collection was not completed last week for portions of District 19. The remaining areas are Wexford Village and an area bounded by Old Middleton and Rosa on the east, Gaommon on the west, Inner Drive on the south, and City of Middleton on the north. The Streets Department expects to compete collection this week beginning Monday.
