Project Information
On April 20, 2026, Madison Parks completed the Breese Stevens Field athletic field replacement. The previous artificial turf system, installed in 2014, reached the end of its useful life, and it's replacement was a necessary part of facility maintenance to ensure the continued use of the field for athletic events.
In 2025, Parks issued public works Contract 9666 for contractor bidding. Through a competitive selection process, John Daniels Construction was awarded the athletic field replacement contract.
In 2024, Madison Parks hired a consulting firm to evaluate available turf systems for the replacement. A key requirement of the evaluation was that the new system must meet FIFA standards for professional soccer, as Breese Stevens Field is home to Forward Madison FC.
On December 9, 2025, the public works construction contract to install the new field turf was awarded to Joe Daniels Construction. Construction is anticipated to begin in March 2026, with substantial completion by May 2026.
