Metro Transit’s Youth Fast Fare offers half-price fares for eligible youth, providing a convenient pay-as-you-go option for students as they head back to school.
Available to youth ages 5 –17, or still in high school, create an account online, pick up a Metro Fast Fare card, and then register to receive half-price fares with a youth discount. No need to pay for a pass up front, add funds to your account on the go.

Where to get a Fast Fare Card
Fast Fare Cards are available at the Metro Transit Administration Office (1245 E. Washington Ave.), any Madison Public Library, or by emailing mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com to receive one by mail.
Setting Up Your Account
Visit MyMetroBus.com/OnlineAccount to get started with creating your account online. You’ll need a valid email address to create your account. You can also download and create your account through the Metro Transit Fast Fares app, at MyMetroBus.com/Mobile-App.
How To Verify Eligibility
Available to ages 5 –17, or still in high school. Stop by the Metro Transit Administration Office (1245 E. Washington Ave.) or verify remotely by emailing mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com.
Please provide a photocopy or attachment of the following items to verify eligibility for a half-price fare.
- Valid student ID
- Valid ID card, passport, or birth certificate
