Getting Started

Riding the bus is easy with the Metro Transit Fast Fare App. Pay your fare from your phone and enjoy features like free transfers and fare capping. Follow these simple steps to get started.
 

  1. Download the App

    The Metro Transit Fast Fare App can be found in your mobile app store.

  2. Create Your Account

    Open the app, click Sign Up in the top right corner, and follow the steps to create your account. A valid email address is required.

    Do you already have a Fast Fare Smart Card? You can register one or more cards to your new or existing account.

  3. Choose Mobile App as Your Ride Option

    In the Metro Transit Fast Fares app, select Tap and Ride, and choose Mobile App as your ride type. Skip the next screen to Add Funds by selecting “I’ll Add Funds Later" at the bottom.

  4. Create Your Barcode

    Continuing in the app, tap the “Create My Mobile Barcode” button, give it a name, and finish by selecting the “Create My Barcode” button.

  5. Add Funds to Your Account

    Select the amount you wish to add using a credit or debit card. You can also use cash at any sales outlet or ticket vending machine at BRT stations.

  6. Boarding the Bus

    Before you get on the bus, open the Metro Transit Fast Fare App and log in. Make sure the QR code is showing on your screen. BRT stations will alert you when your bus is approaching the platform.

  7. Scan Your QR Code

    Hold your phone so the screen faces the middle of the fare reader. Keep it about four fingers away and ensure the QR code is in the center. Scan your phone each time you board the bus.

  8. Enjoy Your Ride!

Don’t Forget to Scan

Always remember to scan your phone when you board the bus.
This ensures two things:

  • Deducts the correct fare from your account.
  • Unlocks benefits like Free Transfers (within the 2-hour transfer window) and tracks Fare Cap Pricing automatically. You won’t be charged once you hit your daily, weekly, or monthly fare cap limit—just keep scanning and riding.
