Construction for this project will begin late May 2026/early June 2026. The construction areas will be fenced off and these parts of the park will be temporarily unavailable for public use until construction is completed in fall of 2026. This will not impact Parks Alive! events.

Project Information
Madison Parks is planning improvements to Worthington Park! This project is in partnership with the Madison Parks Foundation.
Currently in design/planning, Parks plans to add a futsal court to the southwest field of Worthington Park. A variation of soccer, futsal is an exciting fast-paced game where players display quick reflexes and technical skills. It is played on a hard-surfaced court with a heavier ball, typically in teams of 5 players.
In addition to the futsal court, Parks is planning to reconstruct the east-west multi-use path due to poor condition and drainage problems.
Construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2026! See graphic below.
