Dairy Drive

Tonight, Common Council will be voting on Alder Mayer's resolution to extend the contract with Madison Street Medicine to operate Dairy Drive through April. Alder Field's blog has an excellent write up of the issues and discussion going on around Dairy Drive. As it stands right now, it does not seem like the county is going to contribute any money towards the operation of Dairy Drive. It is possible for Madison Street Medicine to fund Dairy Drive through April using their existing funding, but Alder Mayer would need to introduce a substitute for that to take place.

425 N Frances St & 450 W Gilman St

Next Monday, September 22nd, I'll be hosting a public input meeting for a new development. This development is on the current location of the Porta Bella restaurant, next to the Grimm Book Bindery. You can find more information on the proposal here, and you can register for the meeting here. In total, it will be a 16 story building with 115 total units and 105 parking spaces. The developer is planning on leveraging the affordable housing height bonus by providing affordable units, in exchange for reaching the height limit.

Common Council

The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 16, at 6:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include extending the supportive services contract between the City and MACH OneHealth through April 30, 2026, for work conducted at Dairy Drive campground.

Board of Public Works

  • The Board of Public Works meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 17, at 4:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include construction management in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 17.
