Snow Alert and Meeting and Event Highlights for the Week of December 1, 2025

- Snow update: We are expecting the first significant snowfall of the season. Here is relevant information and reminders.
- Drop-off sites will be closed on 11/29 and 11/30. This frees up Streets staff for plowing and related tasks and keeps all of us safer.
- Leaf collection will be delayed for residents with an 11/30 set out date. Collection will begin again as soon as Streets staff can be released from plowing duties.
- Plows will be out starting at 12 AM (midnight) Saturday and they will be circling through the salt routes throughout the storm.
- Street plowing will begin when the storm is at or near its end and there are three or more inches of snow accumulated on the road.
- Sidewalk clearing reminder: City ordinances require all snow and ice be removed from a public sidewalk by Noon (12:00pm) of the day after the snow stops.
- Plan Commission District 19 matters
- Agenda item 3 (Legistar 90552) amends the Transit Oriented Development Zoning Overlay (TOD Overlay) permitting more housing types and restricting new auto-oriented buildings of some types (but not affecting existing businesses).
- Agenda item 4 (Legistar 90553) re-zones 659 N Whitney Way and 5003 University Avenue from Neighborhood Mixed Use (NMX) to Regional Mixed Use (RMX) consistent with the adopted West Area Plan.
- Agenda item 5 (Legistar 90554) re-zones 402-434 and 429 Gammon Place and 433 S Gammon Road from Commercial Corridor (CC) to Regional Mixed Use (RMX) and 5701-5801 Mineral Point Road and 422 S Rosa Road from Suburban Employment (SE) to Regional Mixed Use (RMX) consistent with the adopted West Area Plan.
- Finance and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) District 19 matters: Item 18 on the Finance Committee agenda and item 4 on the CDBG agenda (Legistar 90965) requests approval of $5.6 million of affordable housing funds for MSP Real Estate’s 437 S Yellowstone Senior Apartments.
- Board of Public Works District 19 matters: Item 24 (Legistar 91020) requests award of a contract for playground equipment to Best Value Contracting including $61,710.66 for Skyview Park.

Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

- Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, December 1, at 4:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include awarding up to $13,963,000 from the Affordable Housing Fund to support four affordable housing development projects.
- Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place on Monday, December 1, at 5:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include creating a housing type called “cottage courts” in Madison General Ordinances.
- Board of Public Works: The Board of Public Works meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 3, at 4:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include public works projects in districts 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20.

Public Information Meetings (PIMs)
- Public Information Meeting - Carpenter-Ridgeway Park, Tuesday, December 2: The City of Madison Planning Division, in cooperation with Madison Parks, is hosting a Public Information meeting on this Bike Playground and Skills Track at Carpenter Ridgeway Park. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. Advanced registration is required.
- Far West Operations Building, Tuesday, December 2: A public information meeting is scheduled for this project at 6 p.m., Dec. 2, 2025, via Zoom. Registration prior is required.
