The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on November 4 to 6:00am on November 5 we received 402 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 52
- East: 91
- Midtown: 84
- North: 80
- South: 38
- West: 47
- Other: 10
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Tuesday, November 4:
Priority calls only from 11:15am to 12pm due to calls for service/resources available/staffing available.

- 9:49am - East – Detox Conveyance: Caller contacted MPD because they were intoxicated and felt unsafe. The subject was contacted and placed into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital as detox was not available. After several hours of waiting at the hospital, the subject was left in the care of medical staff and officers were able to disengage.
- 11:13am - North – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance between two subjects that started in a vehicle. A verbal argument started in a vehicle and escalated into a physical altercation where a 41-year-old male subject elbowed the victim in the nose causing pain. The victim asked to be let out of the vehicle. The driver/subject pulled the car over and allowed the victim to get out. The victim attempted to retrieve some items from the vehicle when the subject slammed the door on the victim’s arm. The subject then took off in the vehicle (with their children). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject (domestic disorderly conduct – 2 counts), who remains at-large.
- 12:52pm - East – Disturbance: Officers responded to the 2700 block of E. Washington Avenue for a report of juveniles fighting. Several subjects contacted. EMS responded for a minor injury. Investigation continuing.
- 1:59pm - East – Check Person: Officers were flagged down by a community member who reported that a subject was being held against their will in a tent behind a business (High Crossing Blvd). Contact made with a 30-year-old male subject who tells MPD they will have to kill him. Dialogue attempted with the subject. Taser displayed which resulted in the subject being detained. The victim was contacted who reported being strangled and kept against her will. A hammer was recovered. The subject was issued a stalking letter. An emergency detention was explored as the subject has a Chapter 51 return, but that was not supported. The subject was arrested for strangulation, false imprisonment and disorderly conduct while armed. The relationship between the subject and the victim is unclear other than the subject was obsessed with the victim.
- 7:11pm - East – Check Area: Officers responded to a 911 disconnect with sounds of an obvious disturbance in the background. Contact made with a victim who reported being physically assaulted by a 19-year-old male subject who was no longer on scene. The subject reportedly punched the victim numerous times and displayed a cannister of mace. The subject pulled a handgun from his waist and threatened to kill all of the occupants in the home. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Contact attempted with the subject at an address without success. Investigation continuing.
- 10:21pm - West – Missing Adult: A 66-year-old male subject was reported missing after he did not return home from the store earlier in the evening. The subject has medical/health concerns. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. Silver Alert issued.
- 10:35pm - East – Domestic Disturbance: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence between two subjects. The victim reported being bit by a 35-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
