The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.

Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

Number of calls

From 6:00am on October 27 to 6:00am on October 28, we received 447 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.

A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:

  • Central: 80
  • East: 100
  • Midtown: 61
  • North: 76
  • South: 43
  • West: 79
  • Other: 8

"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Notable calls

Monday, October 27:

  • 7:22am - West – Crash: Officers responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash with no injuries (6000 block of Lynbrook Ln). The driver (34-year-old female) was cited for inattentive driving.
  • 8:20am - West – Death Investigation: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (56-year-old female). The decedent was terminally ill and had just returned home from the hospital. Nothing suspicious identified.  
  • 12:23pm - Central – Death Investigation: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (68-year-old male) due to a strong odor and the subject not answering their door. The subject had not been seen or heard from for about a week. Entry made and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner’s office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
  • 6:42pm - South – Check Person: Officers responded, along with MFD, to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Mental health resources plugged in. The subject accepted services voluntarily. Officers disengaged.
  • 9:05am - West – Suspicious Person: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious subject (62-year-old male) yelling and kicking a residential fence (Hartford Dr/Lynville Ct). Damage was observed to the fence. The subject was located nearby damaging another residential property. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

Tuesday, October 28:

  • 12:01am – East – Check Person: Officers responded to a caller who reported being suicidal. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital where mental health resources were plugged in. The subject accepted services voluntarily and officers disengaged.
  • 2:25am – North – Non-Residential Burglary: Officers responded to an alarm at a car dealership. A subject was observed to be on the property per the alarm company. Officers responded and observed a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was given verbal commands by officers. The subject did not comply with the orders. A contact team was formed and the subject was taken into custody. The subject was determined to be the same person that broke into the business earlier in the month as well. The subject was arrested for burglary, resisting, misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts), and felony bail jumping (4 counts).
