On Friday, 7/16/21, Officers from the Madison PD conducted an enhanced enforcement project on E Washington Ave. During this project officers continued to focus on speeding and other hazardous driving behaviors.
During the project officers conducted a total of 31 stops (30 for speeding and 1 for running a red light). All vehicles that were stopped for speeding were traveling at least 15 MPH over the posted limit (55 MPH). Highest recorded speed was 84 MPH.

These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and conducted in partnership with the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
