Prohibited Harassment & Discrimination
The City of Madison is committed to providing a work environment free from harassment and discrimination. To that end, this policy is liberally applied and strictly enforced. Harassment, discrimination, and retaliation are prohibited conduct and violations of this policy will not be tolerated. The Department of Civil Rights has the responsibility of investigating all potential violations of this policy.
Any employee who fails to take appropriate action upon observing an act prohibited by this policy, or who fails to take appropriate action upon receiving a complaint of a violation of this policy, is guilty of misconduct. Managerial employees are required to promptly notify their Department/Division Head, in writing, of all instances of known, observed and/or reported discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation.
