President's Message

Welcome!  Please use the links on this page to access information on the City of Madison Common Council.

Madison's Common Council is made up of 20 democratically elected alders, who represent the residents of their districts, and work with the mayor, other city officials, and city employees to address issues that come before the Common Council that effect the entire city. The Common Council aims to reflect the desires and aspirations of its residents and embraces public involvement and input.

We strive to keep the lines of communication open and welcome the exchange of ideas to address important issues. It is essential that we keep our current agenda and the future goals for Madison transparent.

On behalf of all members of the Madison Common Council, we look forward to providing our city and residents with the best public policy, decisions, openness and access.  It is my honor to serve as the president of the Madison Common Council.

Samba Baldeh, President
