Meetings

  • Finance Committee:  The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, July 17, 2023, in virtual format at 4:30 PM. Agenda items include authorizing the City of Madison to accept a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support the development of a Permanent Men's Shelter, the approval of the creation of project plans and boundaries for multiple TIDs, authorization to execute a lease agreement with the Madison Public Market Foundation, and more!

  • Street Use Staff Commission: The Street Use Staff Commission meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2023, in virtual format at 10:00 AM. Agenda items include the consideration, discussion, and vote of street use permits for events such as India Day 2023, apartment move-ins, Ironman Wisconsin, and more!
  • Economic Development Committee: The Economic Development Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in virtual format at 5:00 PM. Agenda items include a staff presentation and discussion regarding the Small Cap TIF loan program, staff updates on TIDs and land banking, and more!
  • Madison Food Policy Council: The Madison Food Policy Council meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in virtual format at 5:30 PM. Agenda items include approving the Healthy Retail Access Program funding recommendation for the Dane County Farmers Market, a presentation about Wisconsin Food System Inc, a number of business and staff reports, and more!
  • West Area Plan - Virtual Public Meeting - Tuesday, July 18, 2023: Join us at a virtual public meeting to see what we've heard thus far via surveys, interactive mapping, and previous public engagement and to review and provide feedback on initial plan recommendations. This meeting will cover the same content as the Wednesday, July 26, 2023, virtual public meeting and Wednesday, August 2, 2023, in-person meeting at Rennebohm Park.   • Elver Park Listening Session - Thursday, July 20, 2023: Madison Parks is proposing a number of improvements to Elver Park in the coming years. These improvements represent relatively minor projects that will take place before a larger master planning process begins in 2024. The master plan process will address larger changes to the park and provide opportunities to provide feedback and comments for Elver Park's long-term uses, vision, and layout.
  • US 51 (Stoughton Rd) South Study - Thursday, July 20, 2023: WisDOT is hosting the first public involvement meeting of the study on Thursday, July 20, 2023. This meeting will be an open house format and focus on identifying areas of concern on the corridor that should be addressed with future transportation projects.

  • Parks Alive (Elver Park) - Monday, July 17, 2023: Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music, and free food. Events are held in parks across the city and throughout the summer. Connect with your neighbors and engage with your community at a Parks Alive event near you! 
  • Wild Rumpus: An Anji Play Experience - Monday, July 17, 2023: Enjoy child-led play at A Wild Rumpus based on the educational approach of Anji Play. The library will provide special play equipment to spark your children's imagination at two parks this summer. Messy clothes and a water bottle are encouraged. Bring your own picnic dinner and make an evening of it! All ages and abilities are welcome. No registration needed.

  • Lakeside Kids: Fun With Weather, Tuesday, July 18, 2023: Learn how the National Weather Service monitors and forecasts the weather! There'll be a lightning safety quiz, and we'll simulate a thunderstorm by snapping and jumping around. We'll have our teaching tornado along with some tornado tubes for the kids to play with at the end. Bring your weather questions to try and stump the meteorologist!
  • Dane County Farmers' Market - Wednesday, July 19, 2023The Wednesday Dane County Farmers' Market is located on the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, between the Madison Municipal Building and the City-County Building. While more intimate than the Saturday Market, you will still find many of your favorite Dane County Farmers' Market members, as well as a full array of fruits and vegetables, eggs, cheeses, honey, maple syrup, bakery items, cut flowers, plants, and many specialty items.
  • Free Hands-Only CPR & AED Class - Wednesday, July 19, 2023: Learn life-saving skills with Madison Fire Department EMTs and Paramedics! This class will teach you hands-only CPR, how to use an AED, and help you know what to do if you see someone collapse from sudden cardiac arrest. Registration is free and required.
  • Parks Alive (Hammersley Park) - Wednesday, July 19, 2023: Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music, and free food.   • Concerts on the Square - Wednesday, July 19, 2023The Capitol Square comes alive for six consecutive Wednesdays during the summer months with music from the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. FREE and open to the public, grab a blanket, a picnic basket, and your family and friends for this Madison tradition
  • Barre3 at The Glen - Wednesday, July 19, 2023: Join Madison's barre3 and Madison Parks Foundation on fairway #1 at The Glen Golf Park for a heart-pumping, joy-filled workout. To help raise money for the Madison Parks Foundation, donations are suggested but not required to attend.
  • Capitol City Band Concerts in the Park - Thursday, July 20, 2023: Old-fashioned band concerts in the park, "as American as apple pie." Familiar toe-tapping tunes, songs, polkas, broadway tunes, and the marches of John Philip Sousa. Music for all ages and all cultures. Relax, enjoy the music. Bring a friend. Bring a chair for listening comfort.
  • Concerts on the Rooftop: Madison County - Thursday, July 20, 2023: Country show band Madison County knows how to rock the Monona Terrace rooftop to capacity! They've been voted Country Artist of the Year at the Madison Area Music Association Awards Show, Wisconsin Area Music Industry People's Choice for multiple years, Isthmus readers' favorite local country band, and Madison Magazine's best local band and country band six years running.
  • Summer Nights at Segoe - Friday, July 21, 2023: Carts in Parks: The City of Madison Carts in Parks program continues in 2022 and will be regularly featured at parks around Madison! Food carts are scheduled at a variety of parks and community events through the summer. Many of the food carts accept credit for payment, but not all. Please plan accordingly. The exact food cart(s) and the schedule are subject to change. Weather may impact or cancel vending activities.
  • Volunteer Day at The Glen - Saturday, July 22, 2023: The Glen Golf Park is establishing an ongoing volunteer program that helps volunteers learn, grow personally, and gain professional experience.
  • Urban Triage 3rd Annual Summer Kick Back - Saturday, July 22, 2023: The theme for this year's Kickback is Field Day! Celebrate the skin you're in, our community, and the breaking of generational curses by joining us on Saturday, July 22, 2023!

  • Opera in the Park - Saturday, July 22, 2023: Opera in the Park, Madison Opera's gift to the community, is a night like no other. In beautiful Garner Park, the stars come out in the sky, the light sticks glow in the audience, and world-renowned singers share their favorite opera and musical songs with the Madison Opera Chorus and Madison Symphony Orchestra.

  • Lake Monona Waterfront - Master Plan Update - Monday, July 24, 2023: Please join us for an update on the Lake Monona Waterfront planning initiative! Madison Parks is holding a public event at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center on Monday, July 24, beginning at 6:30 PM. Representatives from the Sasaki design team will present proposed revisions to their lakeshore plan based on community input received during the first phase of the design challenge. The team is working closely with the Lake Monona Waterfront Ad-hoc Committee to prepare an updated plan for Common Council consideration later this fall.
  • West Area Plan - Virtual Public Meeting - Wednesday, July 26, 2023Join us at a virtual public meeting to see what we've heard thus far via surveys, interactive mapping, and previous public engagement and to review and provide feedback on initial plan recommendations.   • West Area Plan - In-Person Public Meeting - Wednesday, August 2, 2023Join us at Rennebohm Park to see what we've heard thus far via surveys, interactive mapping, and previous public engagement and to review and provide feedback on initial plan recommendations. The meeting at the park will include food for purchase and some fun outdoor activities. We look forward to meeting folks in person and discussing the plan!

  • Community Implementation of the Standard Response Protocol & Standard Reunification Method - Wednesday, August 2, 2023: The Dane County Sheriff's Office will be partnering with Dane County Emergency Management and the Office of School Safety (OSS) for a 2-hour training on Standard Response Protocol (SRP) & Standard Reunification Method (SRM) Incident preparedness overview for Public Private Partners. OSS will present a comprehensive school safety model and introduce SRP & SRM to community members. The training will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Blackhawk Church, 9620 Brader Way, Middleton, WI.
