All-City Swim Meet - Ridgewood Pool

Jul 28-30 - All-City Swim Meet for 2022 is being hosted at Ridgewood Pool in the Orchard Ridge Neighborhood from July 28-30, 2022. A full schedule of events along with maps and other important information can be found here.


Grant Opportunity

FLEX LANE

"Flex Lane opens in mid-July along the Madison Beltline (US 12/18), Dane County Submitted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.  WisDOT is preparing to open the Flex Lane along US 12/18 – commonly known as the Beltline – in Madison. Crews improved the inside median shoulders, between the Whitney Way exit and the I-39/90 interchange, for use as an additional travel lane during peak traffic periods." Click here for details

City-County Homeless Issues Committee Meeting – Monday 7/11 5:30pm (virtual)

The CCHIC will be receiving updates regarding men's (homeless) shelter and COVID-19 responses (ie: hotel sheltering for those experiencing literal homelessness). Watch online

Common Council Meeting – Tuesday, July 12, 6:30pm (hybrid)

Beginning Tuesday, Common Council meetings will be held in-person and on the City's Zoom meeting platform. This change is intended to help further equity, accessibility and participation/engagement goals. Members of the public may choose to view and/or provide comments in person or virtually.

Council meetings will still be viewable live and on-demand via:

To attend or give public comment in person, come to the 2nd floor of the City County Building at 210 Martin Luther King Blvd.  Masks are recommended but not required as Dane County's community COVID-19 level is currently medium. Public Safety Review Committee Meeting – Wednesday 7/13, 5pm (virtual)

The PSRC will discuss a proposed ordinance that would prohibit Madison Police Department and Law Enforcement responding under mutual aid (emergency response and/or incident mitigation assistance) from using tear gas, mace, projectile devices and/or chemical agent for the purposes of crowd control. Watch online

Tuesday 7/12 – Virtual Session on Gun Safety, 12-1pm  Join Public Health Madison Dane County, Dane County's Violence Prevention Unit and Be SMART from Moms Demand Action for a conversation on gun safety. Wednesday 7/13 – Badger Rock Community Market, 5-8pm @ the Badger Rock Neighborhood Center (501 E. Badger Rd) Join the Badger Rock Neighborhood and UJAMAA Business Network for one of their weekly Wednesday markets where space is offered to share resources, enjoy entertainment/performances and opportunities to shop with & support local businesses!

Saturday 7/23 – Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center 25th Anniversary Celebration 6:30-9:45pm @ The Monona Terrace (1 John Nolan Dr) This free community celebration will feature local and regional bands, dance performances and conclude with a spectacular drone show over Lake Monona.
