Common Council Meeting: The Common Council will meet in hybrid format, Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include (Item 1. File# 75957) recognizing and celebrating February 2023 as Black History Month in the City of Madison and around the United States,(Item 31. File# 75529) Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for 2023 Rennebohm Park Inclusive Playground.  (Item 81. File# 75633) Landmark Nomination for the Filene House (1617 Sherman Ave), 

Transportation Policy and Planning Board (TPPB) on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 5:00 pm  Planning staff has been working with Traffic Engineering and Engineering staff to draft official mapping and proactive rezoning maps and language, as recommended in the Odana Area Plan.  

Board of Public Works (BPW) on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 4:30 pm  Planning staff has been working with Traffic Engineering and Engineering staff to draft official mapping and proactive rezoning maps and language, as recommended in the Odana Area Plan.  

 

Events

  • Family Definition Revision meeting (Virtual) Monday, February 6, 2023 at 6pm Register in advance. Building Inspection staff will be hosting two community informational meetings about the proposed legislation to revise the family definition in our zoning code. These meetings are intended to provide information to community members about the proposal and to answer questions about it.  You are invited to a Zoom meeting. 
  • West Area Plan Kickoff Meeting #1 (Virtual): Monday, February 6, 2023. noon to 1:00 pm  Registration is required and can be completed on the project webpage.  The City of Madison invites you to join us for the first public meeting to kickoff the West Area Plan! This virtual meeting will include the same content and similar opportunities for questions and feedback as the second and third kickoff meetings. 
  • West Area Plan Kickoff Meeting #2 (In-Person): Thursday, February 9, 2023. The City of Madison invites you to join us for the second public meeting to kickoff the West Area Plan! at Vel Phillips Memorial High School, 201 S. Gammon Rd., Wisconsin Neighborhood Center; enter front doors and look for directional signs.

  • Family Fun Night Fun at WPCRC! Friday, February 10, 2023 - 5:30pm to 8:00pm: Make plans for Family Fun Night, held monthly at Warner Park Community Recreation Center.
  • Food: A Cultural Culinary History: Mondays, 1:30 – 3:30 pm, February 13 – May 1, explores the history of how we have produced, cooked and consumed food through the ages. Shows the cultures of the world and the foods that have affected history. 
  • Voices of Color: Hosted by Melvin Hinton. On February 16 at 10:00, we welcome Dr. Linda Vakunta, Deputy Mayor.
