According to Charlie Romines, Streets Superintendent, all residential streets will be plowed today. This serves as a perfect segue to our upcoming District 11 Town Hall meeting next Thursday, April 11th on snow plowing strategies and salt usage on our city streets.

During Madison's heavy snowfall and the subzero temperatures back in January, I was peppered with angry emails from residents about salt usage on city streets and the effectiveness of snow plowing. With outdoor temperatures expected to rise again this spring and residents' tempers starting to cool down a bit, it's an opportune moment to gather for another town hall discussion on April 11th at the Sequoya Library regarding snow plowing and salt use on Madison streets.

Joining us at this town hall on Thursday, April 11th at 7:00 pm will be Madison Streets Superintendent Charles Romines and Wisconsin Salt Wise Program Manager Allison Madison, to explain Madison’s winter weather policies and practices and discuss ideas for improvements for next year. Both presenters will be available to answer questions from the audience.
