Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Unit Well #12 in District 11, originally built in 1956, is currently being fully reconstructed. Although the Unit Well 12 building and reservoir are being demolished and rebuilt new, the existing well borehole is to be carefully protected and reused to ensure that this site continues to distribute the same high quality water that it always has. Learn more about the remodeling on the city website.
Some of the original stone will be getting reused as part of the new building's façade, however there is still excess original stone for the the public to take and reuse for free. Give this historic stone a second life in your landscaping, gardening, and other creative projects.
Stop by the City's Central drop off site (1504 Quann-Olin Pkwy, Madison, WI 53713) during normal business hours and take what you can use while supplies last. Help us recycle, reuse, and keep these natural materials out of the waste stream.

- Anyone interested is responsible for their own pickup and hauling; assistance will not be provided by City staff.
