Goodman Pool Opens This Week, Regent Street Redux, and More Updates
postedHi Everyone,
Summer break from school is around the corner and so far the weather does not disappoint. We even got some much needed rain, though, as a gardener, I join the farmers in wishing for more of the wet stuff.
Speaking of wet stuff, Goodman Pool opens this Thursday, June 11. This year, everyone 3 years and older visiting the Pool must complete a Pool Waiver before entering Scholarships are available for season passes. See Goodman Pool Checklist for more information.
Skip the line later by participating in a Staff Assistance Popup event on Tuesday, June 9 from 2pm to 7pm! To help with the new Visitor Checklist process, Parks staff are hosting this and other popup assistance events at Parks Lakeside Offices and at the Goodman Pool.
Here are the rest of this week's updates:
Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings
Note: This is not a complete list of meetings for this upcoming week. All meetings and their details can be found at the Meeting Schedule page.
- Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. in hybrid format. Agenda items include honoring resolutions for Juneteenth and Pride Month, as well as approving the roadway geometry for Regent Street. Yesterday, I shared I intend to vote yes on the proposed redesign. (Subsequently, I received several favorable comments from avid bikers who agree with my belief that dedicated bike lanes are not necessary given there are a number of safe options to bike within a block of any point between Randall and S. Park on Regent which can be found by using the City's low-stress bike route finder.)
