Garver Path, Network Redesign, Safe Streets - D15 Update 2/27/22

posted

The Garver Path project page was updated last week with the following: “There are a few areas along the new path that are not draining well and are being barricaded off. The Contractor is scheduled to repair the pavement as soon as possible in the Spring. We apologize for the inconvenience.” The portion of path through O.B. Sherry Park is also scheduled for construction later this year.

Metro Transit Network Redesign

There was a well-attended public meeting last week on the Metro Transit Network Redesign proposal. I have also asked staff to attend upcoming Eastmorland, Lake Edge, and SASY neighborhood meetings and there will be an eastside focused meeting on April 4. You can find a link to meeting details, background information, and a survey at the project page here.

Safe Streets Madison

The Transportation Commission approved nearly $700,000 worth of safety and pedestrian/bike network improvement projects at their meeting on Wednesday, including a number of projects in District 15. The commission is expected to approve another $700,000 worth of projects at an upcoming meeting. I will share more information out ahead of the next round of review.
