Atwood Update, Backyard Chickens, Maple Syrup Fest - D15 Update 3/12/23
posted
Chicken Limit
On Monday, the Plan Commission will take up a proposal to raise the maximum number of chickens that can be kept from four to ten. Iām a sponsor of this change that would permit families to keep a moderate sized flock, more capable of producing eggs for personal consumption.
There are currently no limits on the number of other pets that can be kept in the city and existing city ordinances already in place to enforce any nuisance or unsanitary conditions would remain unchanged. You can find the details and sign up to provide comments at the meeting here.
BRT Construction Public Information Meeting
On Tuesday at 6p, Metro Transit will hold a public information meeting to talk about construction related to its Bus Rapid Transit project. More details and registration can be found here.
ECA Meeting
The Eastmorland Community Association will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday at Pinney Library at 7p.
Maple Syrup Fest
On Saturday, come celebrate spring with the Maple Syrup Fest at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center! This family-friendly event offers a blend of indoor and outdoor activities found nowhere else in Dane County. Visitors will learn how to tap trees for sap and can enjoy free samples of maple syrup and maple cream. More details here
