Experiencing Internet Issues?
posted
Are internet issues (access, speed, affordability, etc) weighing you down? Did you know Dane County has a Broadband (Access) Task Force? Created in 2020, the task force is charged with working to provide reliable broadband access to all Dane County residents. One of the issues they have identified are inaccurate service coverage maps. In order to assist with their efforts, they invited MadREP (Madison Area Regional Economic Partnership) to present on their speed test efforts. Residents are encouarged to complete the (approximately) 2 minute test. Data collected will help present a more complete picture of broadband access issues and be able to be utilized by many organizations and units of government to expand access.
The speed test can be found here: http://madisonregion.org/industry-and-innovation/broadband/
The Task Force will also be holding upcoming virtual public hearings to receive input on improving local internet access. The first meeting will occur on Monday February 28th, 6-8:30pm. The second will take place Friday March 4th, 9-11:30am. Registration is required to provide testimony at the public hearings.
