Week of May 26th

Dear District 16 Residents,

I hope that you all have a safe and restful Memorial Day as we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

This week’s update will be on the shorter side, but I do want to highlight the Urban Design Commission Meeting this coming Wednesday, May 28th. At this meeting, there will be an informational presentation on the future of the sustainability campus with details on the buildings that will make up the campus. I encourage you to attend and submit any written or public comments ahead of time.

Madison Metro and MMSD are once again partnering to offer the Summer Youth Pass to allow students to ride Metro FREE all summer long, making it easier to get to jobs, athletic camps, and other fun summer destinations around Madison. The Summer Youth Pass will be available virtually through the Metro Transit Fast Fare mobile app, making it easier than ever for students to ride with just a scan from their phone. Additionally, some students may be provided with a pass through their participation in a summer school program. Finally, students with an MMSD Fast Fare pass from the school year are encouraged to use the same pass throughout the summer, making it easy and convenient to continue riding without interruptions.

• South Madison Farmer's Market, Tuesday, May 27: The Greater Madison MPO at the South Madison Farmer's Market sharing information about the Active Transportation Plan for Dane County, which focuses on improving biking, walking, and rolling across the region.
• FOOT - Free Concerts in Olin Pavilion, Wednesday, May 28 (This event occurs on multiple dates): FREE concerts return to the Olin Park pavilion on Wednesdays in May from 6 to 8 PM. Mark Croft duo  - Americana with fiddlin' on Wednesday, May 28.

• Yahara Fishing Club Kids Fishing Day, Saturday, May 31: The first 300 kids receive a free fishing rod and bait along with help from Yahara Fishing Club members.
