Statement on Today’s Officer Involved Shooting

I am heart broken, Madison is once again grieving the loss of one of our neighbors. A man was killed on Willy Street today by the Madison Police Department, and while we do not know all of the details, our community deserves full transparency and an independent investigation into what happened.

We cannot accept this violence as inevitable. My heart is with the victim's family, his loved ones, and everyone in our neighborhoods reeling from this trauma. We need true justice, safety, and accountability.
