Winter street conditions: How to report slippery streets

Hi there,

A few residents have reached out to me about about slippery roads so I wanted to share an additional way to report problems to the City.

Sand is applied as needed as plows patrol areas. While plows and crews regularly monitor conditions, they also rely on residents to help flag slick or concerning areas so nothing is missed.

If you notice a slippery street, intersection, or other snow- or ice-related issue, the easiest way to report it is through the City’s Report a Problem page. Choose the Snow and Ice Problems option at www.cityofmadison.com/ReportaProblem. That form generates a message to field supervisors so they can dispatch someone as soon as possible to address the issue.  If you'd like as well, you could call the Streets Division east side office at 608-246-4532.  The phone is staffed from 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday.

Thank you for looking out for one another and helping keep our neighborhoods safer this winter.
