Community Connections Week of July 27th, 2026

posted

Hello District 18,

This has been a hard week for a lot of people in Madison, and I want to start by acknowledging that plainly. Many neighbors are grieving, frightened, and looking for answers following the homicide of Corey Ruiz.

This matter will be independently investigated by the Office of the Independent Police Monitor (OIPM). I will share more information as it becomes available.
