Brayton Lot Redevelopment Meeting 8/23

posted

Hi all,

Brayton Lot

My apologies for failing to post the Brayton Lot Redevelopment Public meeting today. I experienced some unfortunate technical difficulties. If you weren't able to make the in person public meeting, you can still make the virtual meeting at noon, 8/23

The Brayton lot is the last completely vacant block in downtown. Planning for the lot started nearly a quarter of a century ago and redevelopment is finally made possible due to its connection with the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) investment in BRT. This development opportunity comes at a time where the pressures of affordable housing are greatest. It is a HUGE opportunity for the city to use put forward a model development of what we need and deserve.

For more information, you can check out the project page. For questions, email Urban Design Planner, Rebecca Cnare, at RCnare@cityofmadison.com or Bill Fruhling, Principal Planner at WFruhling@cityofmadison.com.

Even if you were not able to make the public meetings, the downtown alders are readily planning to engage residents on this lot. Please feel free to contact me, Alder Verveer, and/or Alder Rummel with your opinions on the development.
