The week of August 29 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Board of Estimates, the Plan Commission, the Neighborhood Meeting about Salvation Army Development Proposal for 630 E. Washington Ave, the Street Use Staff Commission, the Vending Oversight Committee, the City County Homeless Issues Committee, the Building Code, Fire Code, Conveyance Code and Licensing Appeals Board, and the Madison Local Food Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Neighborhood Meeting about Salvation Army Development Proposal for 630 E. Washington Ave

Please join Alder Zellers for a neighborhood meeting where we will hear about the Salvation Army's development proposal for 630 E. Washington Ave.  The building they are currently using at that site would be demolished, and a six-story (6) building would be constructed.  The intent is to continue the current services which are being provided at this site including an overnight shelter for single women and families, medical and dental services, and offices.  They will also be applying for WHEDA tax credits to help construct 66 units of affordable & market rate housing.  Approximately 150 parking spaces are proposed.
