The week of November 14 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Common Council; Building Code, Fire Code, Conveyance Code and Licensing Appeals Board; the Board of Public Works; the Economic Development Committee; the Alcohol License Review Committee; Playgound Workshop; Board of Parks Commissioner; and the Downtown Coordinating Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Playground Workshop

The City of Madison Parks Division is about to embark on the annual public input process for the playground replacement projects that are included in the 2017 parks capital budget submission.  The Parks Division will hold a playground workshop focusing on several playgrounds at one time to provide the opportunity for neighborhoods to learn and share ideas with each other.  While the capital budget is not yet finalized (but should be by the time of the workshop), this workshop will address playground replacement projects at Brigham Park, Lake Edge Park, McGinnis Park and Tenney Park.

The workshop will include a larger group presentation and discussion, then will break out into smaller sessions with staff to address design considerations related to the specific park's playground.  Following the workshop, staff will schedule a separate playground meeting to finalize the playground design.
