posted

Hello neighbors,

Reminder about TONIGHT’s IN PERSON public information meeting on the proposed infill development at Woodland Reserve. Meet at the Steven’s Street sign near Palomino Lane at 5:30. Of note, no plans have yet been submitted to the City – this is an initial public meeting to get feedback from residents before the developers formally begin the submission process.

There will be another Camp Randall concert on Saturday. Here is the information from the organizers at UW:

Event Logistics & Neighborhood Impact:

From Tuesday, July 15 through Monday, July 21, you can expect significant activity around Camp Randall. Parking restrictions will be enforced on Breese Terrace, and at times, closures will be necessary to assist with the movement of trucks into and out of the stadium’s loading dock. Approximately 70 semi-trucks will be involved in the load-in and load-out process, staging temporarily on Breese Terrace before relocating to the Alliant Energy Center for long-term parking.

Road Closures:

  • Saturday, July 19 (10:00 AM) – Sunday, July 20 (3:00 AM):
    • Breese Terrace and the 1400 block of Monroe Street will be closed to vehicle traffic.
    • As with football games, Breese Terrace residents will be granted access until pedestrian and vehicle traffic levels make it unsafe.
  • Sunday, July 20:
    • Breese Terrace will have a soft closure to restrict northbound and southbound through traffic as load-out continues through the evening.
    • Resident access will be maintained.

Additional Notes:

  • A sound and lighting check will occur the evening of Friday, July 18. We’ve emphasized to tour staff the importance of minimizing disruption and respecting the neighborhood.
  • On Saturday, there will be less than 5 total minutes of pyrotechnics, which will occur at the beginning, during, and end of the show.

Updates and Notices

  • The 35th anniversary of the passage of the Americans Disability Act (ADA) is July 26. The federal legislation is a civil rights law that protects the rights of people with disabilities in public life. It requires public entities like the City of Madison to provide services, programs, and activities that are accessible and useable for people with disabilities. When the ADA was signed into law in 1990, public entities were required to look at all their programs, facilities, and employment policies, and the public right-of-way to identify barriers to access. They were to develop an ADA Transition Plan so they could plan to remove barriers to access for people with disabilities over time.
    • The proposed ADA Transition Plan is open for public comment June 24 – August 23, 2025. The City of Madison will be hosting the following virtual public information sessions to answer questions and receive feedback from the community:
  • Public Right of Way – July 16th – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Registration Link
  • Public Facilities and Web and Digital Accessibility – July 23rd – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.Registration Link

The final plan will be introduced to the Common Council in September 2025.

We welcome and encourage comments and suggestions, especially from Disabled Madison residents/residents with disabilities and disability-led organizations.
